Urgent Need

Kindred Farm has until September 30, 2021 to vacate the current property in South Surrey. However finding land and raising $1,000,000 to purchase 10 acres of land is a big hurdle. We are delighted a donor has already pledged $100,000. Kindred has been actively looking for a permanent home as this land is ripe for development but it was unexpected to happen during the pandemic. There have been many conversations about our need for a new home with the City of Surrey, the Township of Langley, Young Agrarians, local agencies and rescue groups. With no home secured it is now time to for urgent action of raising $1,000,000 to purchase 10 acres of land. Read, watch and listen to local news coverage of our story on the Media page.

our impact

The healing power of the human/animal bond

Kindred Community Farm Sanctuary provides animal-assisted intervention programs to help children, teens and adults heal from trauma. The therapy animals have all been rescued and include horses, cows, a goat, sheep, turkeys, chickens, ducks, rabbits, cats, and guinea pigs. There are a total of 30 therapy animals and hundreds of clients who rely on the animals to assist them in working through their trauma.

“My 10 year old son attended a 6-week group program at Kindred. It truly changed and enriched both of our lives. He connected with Gracie (visually impaired cow) immediately. The healing that occurred during this unique relationship is something we are so grateful for.” Roslyn, Logan’s mom

“Thank you fo giving me a renewed sense of hope that we can get through this. I can’t express how much that meant to me and my fellow healthcare workers.” Wendy, Surrey Memorial Hospital
