urgent need

We’re back in the saddle—raising funds for our fur-ever home

On September 30, 2021 we were suddenly required to vacate our property on 176th Street in South Surrey. Trying to find land and raise $1,000,000 to purchase 10 acres in less than 6 months was a BIG hurdle. We tried our best, with the help of SO MANY of you, but we didn’t quite get there. When we realized we couldn’t get there fast enough we had to change paths, stop fundraising, and find a temporary place that we could lease for a year. Somewhere we could move all 30 animals, where they would be safe and together. We’re now at our new temporary property, also in South Surrey, and we’re energized and ready to pick up where we left off. Join Keryn Denroche, our founder, on a video tour of our new “temporary” property and see how all the animals are settling in.

our impact

The healing power of the human/animal bond

Kindred Community Farm Sanctuary provides animal-assisted intervention programs to help children, teens and adults heal from trauma. The therapy animals have all been rescued and include horses, cows, a goat, sheep, turkeys, chickens, ducks, rabbits, cats, and guinea pigs. There are a total of 30 therapy animals and hundreds of clients who rely on the animals to assist them in working through their trauma.

“My 10 year old son attended a 6-week group program at Kindred. It truly changed and enriched both of our lives. He connected with Gracie (visually impaired cow) immediately. The healing that occurred during this unique relationship is something we are so grateful for.” Roslyn, Logan’s mom

“Thank you fo giving me a renewed sense of hope that we can get through this. I can’t express how much that meant to me and my fellow healthcare workers.” Wendy, Surrey Memorial Hospital
