This story started in 2024 when a woman named Val dropped by our farm hoping to speak to someone. She shared that she had many chickens that were her husband’s beloved pets but that he had suddenly passed away. Val was determined to ensure that the hens continue to receive the love and attention they deserve, but she found herself overwhelmed by the task. We happily welcomed eleven of her husband’s hens, including Mary Poppins a Silver Laced Wyandotte.
