Exciting Partnership with the Langley Men’s Shed

We had the pleasure of giving a farm tour to the Langley Men’s Shed. We had four shedders in attendance, Maurice, Alex, Greg and George.

Alex and Barney the Goat became fast friends and Barney even let Alex scratch his horns!

While these handy men discovered the many ways they could help build and fix things up on the farm, we learned about the Men’s Shed. We had no idea that the Men’s Shed was a global organization, starting in Australia in the nineties. The Canadian association started in 2022, with associations in 11 other countries and global membership approaching 3000 men.
The Langley Men’s Shed is located near the farm in Aldergrove and they have various equipment and members who enjoy woodworking, metalwork and other types of projects.
One of the key mandates of the Men’s Shed is to support men’s mental health, giving them a place to gather and engage with each other. This aligns really well with Kindred, as we too focus on strengthening mental health through our community programs that bring people and animals together to heal.
We’re looking forward to collaborating with the Langley Men’s Shed and will be sure to show you all their hard work and projects around the farm. If you, your husband, father or a man you know is looking for a group of great guys in the Aldergrove area, have them email info@MensShedLangley.ca to find out more about becoming a member. There’s a new club starting in White Rock too!
