12th day

Badger’s story of kindness.

If you truly save the best for last – Badger might just be that horse. In 2012, Badger was the very first animal we rescued.

Badger had a very tough life as a baby horse. He was trained as a reigning horse (you can google him – Badger San Duster) much too young, before his bones were fully developed.  He turned up lame, was considered worthless and went up for sale at the Fraser Valley Auction and was at-risk of slaughter.

His true worth shone through and a kind person bought him.  He was diagnosed with the worst case of Navicular the vet had ever seen and was soon unable to be ridden.

This is when Kindred Farm was asked to take him and the rest is history.  We couldn’t imagine Kindred without this curious, gregarious, social boy who entertains us every day and is the best therapeutic horse in the world.

$500 pays for Badger’s annual dental care from his vet —but every amount makes a difference.
