Luna’s story of kindness.
Luna came to Kindred Farm this past summer with her sibling, Mystic. Mystic and Luna are flemish-giants, a large rabbit with big ears and a soft cotton tail. They were found living on the streets with a homeless person in a Rubber-maid container, with no breathing holes, soaked in their own urine. Their “shelter” was less than adequate and left them at risk of disease, infection or death. We will never know how they found themselves in this dire situation – and we do not doubt that they were loved and cared for as best as their previous owner could manage, in her own at-risk situation. But this love and living circumstance was going to kill them – and Kindred had to act fast.
When Luna and Mystic arrived we were of the understanding we had rescued two female bunnies. Little did we know, Luna was a male! Within a short time, we discovered baby rabbits—and Luna had become a father. Now neutered and adjusting to his new home, Luna is a friendly, soft mannered male flemish-giant with a story of survival and hope that is inspiring to all.
