In 2015, Kindred welcomed 8 rescue rabbits to our farm and we’ve been in love with bunnies ever since.  Over the years, 7 of the bunnies have passed away.  How lucky are we that we still have our dear sweet Have. She is healthy and is now happy again with some new friends.

We have slowly introduced Java to 6 new rescue rabbits: Treble, Donnor, Dirk, and Pickles, Dill and Cupid.  Any one who knows bunnies, knows it is really difficult to introduce new bunnies. The bunnies have told us that they are not ready to be one large colony so we have them separated into two groups:
(1) Java, Treble, Dirk
(2) Pickles, Donner, Dill, Cupid

Last month we were asked by Rabbitat Rescue if we could add a rabbit that was being picked on at one of their colonies. He is slowly being introduced to our two groups. We don’t know which one he will end up in. Just as he is torn between these two groups, we can’t decide between two names. To help us decide – if he ends up with Donner and Cupid then it will be Rudolf (he has a really red nose). If he ends up with Java, then his name will be Smokey Robinson.

It takes time to keep track of who is who 🙂  The only way around this is to spend time with them and discover each of their distinctive qualities. However, their common bond is that they are all domestic breeds of rabbits which means that they were once someone’s pet but were abandoned out in the wild to fend for themselves.
