Thank you Between Friends Animal Network for rescuing dogs on death row in LA. Many shelters in the US are overwhelmed due to the recession that has hit people hard. Shelters in the Gulf of Mexico have also seen a huge influx of pets due to the gulf oil spill. People are struggling with making ends meet and can’t cope with the cost of feeding their pet. The people are stressed and feel that their pet can be placed somewhere else. This is not the case. There are too many pets – their beloved pets are being euthanized. Wouldn’t it be simpler to give the people a helping hand and supply them with a month’s worth of pet food? Keep people and pets together and this will actually cost less. All that is needed is donated pet food from Canada.
