Important update from Keryn Denroche

Mar 23, 2020

I have such deep respect and am thankful for our Canadian medical health professionals at this time.  They are on the front lines!

At Kindred Farm, we are following all orders and recommendations of BC Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry.

This week we only have our animal care volunteers at the farm and have all measures in place to keep them safe.  Our behind the scenes volunteers are supporting us from their homes.

We were so looking forward to our healing programs starting up in April.  But with the closure of all BC Schools, we now know that our Children’s Groups, Teen Girls, and Kindergarten Class tours are canceled.

We are uncertain about the Equine-Assisted Mental Health & Wellness one-day workshop for First Responders on April 11 and our April 18 Volunteer Training Day.

I didn’t even get a chance to announce the beginning of our special guided tours we are going to host the third Saturday of every month and now the April 18 one is canceled.

We held our March board meeting at the farm last night and have decided our April one will be by Zoom (video conference).

Kindred Farm is a beautiful peaceful space to leave behind the crazy world.  It will be so sad for us if we are not able to share this healing environment with our community.  At this time, we are uncertain about whether our events in May will take place and I will continue to keep you updated.

I have witnessed such kindness and compassion this week that I know we will get through this with a deeper understanding of our neighbors and others.
