Hazel was born with back legs that didn’t work. Her mom was feeding her, but she needed more help than most lambs.

Our longtime sheep shearer, Johanna, asked if Kindred could give Hazel a safe place to grow. Our new Children’s Barn had just what she needed: a warm stall, a flat hallway, and room for a wheelchair.

An X-ray showed that part of Hazel’s spine did not fully develop. She will never walk on her own, but she can still have a beautiful life.

Hazel is a Suffolk Cross Sheep with a soft and beautiful wooly grey body and black fur on her head and legs. She is loved, supported, and very much at home at Kindred—especially when her favourite volunteer, Roger, comes to visit.
