Camp Badger: Day 2

Aug 22, 2019

Although we did a million  insanely fun things today, the kids voted their favourite part of the day was the dead mouse they found. They insisted he have a proper burial  and dug a little grave for him. They made him a tombstone and wrote kind things on it for him. They named him longtail mcsquekerson braveheart and buried him beside their fort so he isn’t alone.

We surprised the kids with a visit from the Pacific Assistance Dogs in the afternoon! PADS was so kind to donate their time today with PADS dogs Stark and Quixley and their wonderful handlers George and Juliet! Stark and Quixley are trained to help clients struggling with PTSD. The teams showed us all the wonderful ways the dogs help people and how PADS  uses positive reinforcement to train their pups!
I’m not really sure who loved the dogs more – the other animals or the kids!
