Surrey YMCA
Christine and I had a meeting with David Woollven and Darren Mumford of the Surrey YMCA. We showed a short presentation on SALI and SALI’s Farm. The YMCA is definitely community minded and this new facility reflects this commitment. YMCA doesn’t have specifically designed programs for at-risk children, but that’s the void that SALI would like to fill. SALI and the YMCA both want to help break down any barriers that may exist for children. One huge barrier for at-risk children is to have an opportunity to heal from emotional and physical abuse. SALI’s Farm will provide children with the restorative touch of an animal, the trust of an animal, and the healing power of nature.
